Bizzarro Team: United by a Shared Passion

Good morning, my friend! It’s Tuesday, and I’m excited to bring you some good vibes today. A warm welcome to our new subscribers—I’m so grateful for each and every one of you!

Today, I want to share a special story about a fantastic team I met when I first started my photography journey.

It was a hot, sunny late spring afternoon when a friend of mine called to tell me about an event she was going to. She was part of an amazing group of creatives who came together to celebrate their love for photography and art. The heart of this group was a talented hair stylist who decided to form the Bizzarro (“Bizarre”) Team.

The idea behind the team was simple: unite artists to share skills and organize themed photoshoots.

My friend told me that the next Sunday, they would be collaborating with Stefanel’s shop in the Milan Gallery, right by the Duomo. The theme was the fabulous ‘70s, and the shop would provide outfits and styling for the models.

It promised to be a fantastic event.

I was a little nervous, though. Back then, I didn’t have much experience and wasn’t used to taking photos in busy public places with people watching what I was doing. But I knew this was a great chance to learn, meet new friends, and connect with other creative souls who shared my passion.

We met at the shop just after lunch, and that’s when the fun began!

Makeup artists worked their magic to create that iconic ‘70s look. Afterward, the hair stylist got to work, and then it was time to pick out and fit the outfits. There were about 30 of us there, including photographers and other creatives.

What struck me most was the joy in the air. Everyone was there because they loved what they were doing, and there was no pressure at all—no money involved, just a group of people pouring their time and talent into something beautiful.

It felt truly magical!

The event lasted all afternoon as we strolled through downtown Milan, bringing smiles and laughter wherever we went, creating a real treat for those around us.

I was so happy to have found this wonderful group and to have the chance to work with them regularly.
There were many more events after that first shoot, each one filled with joy. I learned so much from watching others and soaking in their experience.

The team soon became bigger and bigger, and it started to become a problem meeting all together. First from a logistical point of view, then because, as it happens most of the time, humans tend to ruin beautiful things.

Discussions and problems started to rise, more and more until the point the group broke apart and the magic ended.

It was sad when I got to know from the founder that we were not going to shoot together again. However, I kept some contacts from that incredible adventure and, most of all, I keep memories, images, and a lot of lessons learned.

Take care and talk soon!
