We’ve reached a new chapter of Unpublished, the series where I share some images from old photoshoots that have never been released anywhere else.

Years ago, around this time of the year, I used to organize Halloween-inspired photoshoots — dark, eerie, even slightly disturbing scenes perfectly in tune with the spirit of this “holiday”.
I loved creating that tension, that unsettling atmosphere balanced between the real and the surreal.
To make it work, though, I always needed the talent of a top-level makeup artist, Elisa in this case, because every detail — from the makeup to the visual concept — had to be flawless.
For the shoot I’m sharing today, there was also my mum’s touch (as often happens): she took care of the outfit and the headpiece worn by Francesco.
And the location… well, it couldn’t have been better.
We shot inside an abandoned asylum, about an hour’s drive from where I live — a place that was already creepy on its own.
Walking through its corridors and rooms, once used to house patients, you can still feel a strange kind of energy in the air.
It’s hard to describe — a mix of silence, tension, and memories lingering in the walls.
Over time, like many abandoned places, it became a hideout for the wrong kind of people.
It’s now far too dangerous to visit, and I’ve never gone back since that photo shoot.
But back then — almost ten years ago — it was the perfect set.
So here are a few images from that shoot.
